The next SW instalment is Skeleton Crew, which releases next month. I am undecided on whether I will react to this or not. I'll admit there's a big part of me that wants to watch something new on my own time and just discuss it in Discord. I'll keep you all posted if I decide to do that. 😊

Thanks for all this! Appreciate knowing that people did sit through my re-watch DUMP of thoughts. 😂 The show is definitely "meh" at worst. Had some good, but wasn't enough to make it WOW.

2024-07-28 02:57:46 +0000 UTCGood shout with the Osha waking up thing, I noticed it too but I never got around to making any connections to anything. Never thought to connect it to the helm' scene She also wakes up like that while being in The Stranger's cave (like almost a direct mirror to episode 1 when she does so) The only problem with combining 3 & 7, at least as something shown early on, is it completely gets rid of the mystique of Sol's involvement way back when (which I think they did to put us in Osha's shoes, that Sol is a trustworthy guy) there's probably some adjustments one could make with it I had made a comment on your last Acolyte post of episode 7, and I had pointed out some of the things you noticed about Sol on rewatch. The first time I didn't notice either, I knew that I was gonna rewatch but upon doing so I was kinda surprised; questioned how could I have missed that they were specifically trying to show us what Sol's POV was I think I saw that they were showing us scenes that we saw before, so I just let my memory fill in the gaps - as I had my attention split a bit in that moment so I get what you mean I liked hearing what you gathered upon rewatch, and getting your perspective on the entire series - it was great to hear Caught things I hadn't seen anyone else catch I think this show is meh at worst, there's some standout concepts and ideas that suffer from execution. There's some great moments tho, outside from that. I think purely based on the script and concepts, this deserves the whole shabang (creative investment, the know-how, and all the creative liberties to make it work -but, besides the budget, it just doesn't get that) the amount of episodes, and length of them, seemed to be a needless restriction it had to work past (quite tight execution despite that tho, considering all that they wanted to do) I like this show, if this is other people's trash then this is my treasure

2024-07-28 01:21:54 +0000 UTCI watched every episode twice each week. Each rewatch with your reaction along side. I wanted to like this show. I think the concept of exploring the early history of the Star Wars galaxy is solid. I used your reactions to try and pull more excitement out of me. It didn’t work. I didn’t find the characters particularly compelling or consistent and the story was less screenplay and more novel. I say that as my best way to articulate that inner motivations were minimal to non-existent. It’s like they had a Star Wars checklist they had to follow. Cute droid companion? Check. Short stature supporting character we can license to Build-a-bear? Check? Villain in voice changing mask? Check. Red lightsaber different than we’ve seen in the past media? Check. Enough people have said their piece. I won’t add to it further than I just have. My final comment; I did enjoy the action sequences.

2024-07-22 20:15:43 +0000 UTCWow, what a wrap-up! Yeah there definitely needs to be a second season. There's too much left open for it to be a one-shot show. I hope the fake review bombs didn't destroy its chances. That moment though when the lightsaber turned red... Amazing.
