Some Announcements

I hope to have time to go into these more in depth later!

The monthly update is (hopefully) back on I'm going to devote the first one to posting the goods I got in Japan for it when I'm able.

But here's a few other things:

--I've now capped the more expensive tiers. $1 and $3 are still infinitely open, but no one else can join the more expensive ones (unless someone currently using it drops out)

I'm wanting to keep these liveblogs up, but I think I've reached my max capacity with how busy I've been, so I can't accept more than I have.

--There might be other things to consider in the future for easing the load, like raising tier prices. I know that's a pain for y'all though, and I don't want to interfere with ongoing liveblogs, so it's a last resort.

--I recently ended my contract with Flashpoint Publications. It was for seven years and would have run out in November anyway, I asked to be let out early, they said yes, and after weeks of checking in and being ghosted, finally let me out of it, like four weeks after the "within a week" promise. This means I'm not tangled up in "right of first refusal" and can self-publish the books if I want, which I probably will, just for the heck of it. At least if a few more people by it, the money will actually go to be.

I was asked this on tumblr and will answer it later-- no, I didn't get very much in royalties. I got maybe ten dollars total. This is partly because it didn't sell very well, and the royalties were honestly pretty steep considering this was a floundering queer small press that offered me absolutely no help in advertising the book. I wasn't eligible for royalties until the first 100 copies were sold. I overestimated how much it would sell signing the contact.

There were a lot of things that went down with the small press behind the scenes, and I intend to write them out someday now that I'm free, just so other wannabe writers don't make so many mistakes out of desperation like I did. I'll post it here first. So that post is coming...sometime? In the future?

As well as more detail about my current situation, so on, so forth.

--I've got a ton of new MFA lessons I think are pretty good, so I'm hoping to post a new series of that sometime.

I think that's it for now! I'm balancing some pretty intensive MFA classes with my chaotic admin job, and a lot of stuff going on in my personal life, but I'm going to try to go on less hiatuses.
