Heads up with upcoming Patreon change

Patreon just sent me an email saying that they are now required by law to start charging sales tax for pledges - all creators are forced through this change. The rate will of course vary on where you live. I just wanted to give you a heads up so it doesn't come out of nowhere! You still have time to cancel pledge if you're uncomfortable with the change(until 1st of each month).

The worst part is as far as I know, patreon hasn't said anything about this to patrons - only to creators. They put the responsibility on creators(probably to divert blame), and who knows how many people neglect to mention it/forget? Silliness.
