ahhh this is such a great episode. all the nostalgia! I can't -prove- it, even the Mr Robot Wiki makes no mention of it, but as someone that watched it air live this episode they -also- had coordinated with USA to air advertisements for brands like Coca Cola etc in that 90s brand so when the ECorp ad came up last which they -did- include in the actual episode, it was almost like "oh wait, we're back to the show!" hahaha. I -do- own the blu-ray of this season but I lent it to one of my former roommates -years ago- whom I still regularly keep in touch with and he has -yet- to return it to me. I'm really curious if they were bold enough to have it added as an "extra" on it, but I doubt it.

Happy to see you noticed the style they were going for. The little guy you see a couple times in the opening scene is from a show called "ALF" that ran from 1986 to 1990. "The Tanner family is an average American family. One day, they discover that they have a visitor. He's small, he's furry, he's arrogant, and he's an alien from the planet Melmac. Unsure what to do, they name him ALF: Alien Life Form. Alf soon decides that as much as he misses his home planet, there's a lot to be said for Earth: the Tanners are willing to concede anything as long as he doesn't announce his presence. Oh yeah, the Tanners also have a cat, which looks rather tasty..."
