That's definately how that scene made me feel. I was like -really, out of everything, you're going to talk about the potato scene and misconstruct it like that?- I guess all the regular people have been fed nothing but lies over the countless of years, that there's no other way to be than to see them as "devils". Plus the whole Reiner's father being marleyan and wanting nothing to do with him and his mom for being eldians only adds to the hostility they have.
2023-08-16 07:22:27 +0000 UTCThe scene at the table is very interesting Reiner was trying to convince himself and his family that the Eldians were evil but only he couldn't remember except the situation of Shasha ! which didn't convince his family and that's why his mother wa scared and immediately closed the window because what Reiner told in reality showed that the Eldians in Paradis were just normal people and also it shows that Reiner from inside is not convinced that the Eldians in Paradis are evil and that's what scared his mother the most.
