Now THAT would likely be in the realm of intentionally prolonging the story. I would still read it, I think, but I'm sure the quality would dip if Puddles were to force the plot like that. Things have been moving toward a conclusion that seems to be very much in sight right now. But then, depending on how these monarchs that Elhume sees as such a major threat are used, I could very much see this going on for another 500-700 chapters before we start zeroing in on the conclusion. The conclusion is in sight right now, and has been in sight ever since that whole mass pinnacle attempt arc. Just because it's in sight though, that doesn't necessarily mean it's close. It could be that we are viewing it from hundreds of miles away, and it's just big enough we can see it from very far off.

I know of many successful authors out there who just try to keep their story alive LONG after it has run it's course and should have been ended. The reason this story keeps going though is because that's simply where the plot has taken it.
