Would be interesting if the King did something similar as Wick and uses Elhume's aether (and thus his energy & permissions) along with his nether to create a construct that sections off the cohort into a new nexus layer. That basically makes it super hard for aether forces to attack while they recover. Plus it could tie into the heirarchy, with RG providing a way out through the original nexus ways when the ritual goes past the crater (think of the wood nether lines). Makes me wonder if getting split into pieces actually gave Pine a goal and if he has been shifting karmic destiny here & there to be whole again, that or finally die.
