Full Cobra Released - In Download Section

I used to love cobras, don't know about that anymore, lol. Hope you find it worth the wait. And yes there will be more releases this month.

Most likely the most recognized reptile in the world, the cobra is the ICON of the reptile world. Intelligent, Majestic, and Deadly. When we first started this design we had the goal of NOT using a one piece neck. We had that vision of a snake handler holding up a fully hooded cobra, and through A LOT of trial and error we got it.  Not only that we made this one modular, want a 5 foot cobra, then go for it!!

PARTS:

  1. Head

  2. Jaw

  3. Tongue

  4. Upper teeth

  5. Lower Teeth

  6. Body 1

  7. Body 2

  8. Body 3

  9. Eyes

  10. 3mf - Banded Cobra

    1. Full

    2. No Spots - Does not really save time, but should print better if scaling down.

Scaling

SCALING IS PRINTER DEPENDENT. Successfully printed down to 80%

Printing Details - If printing and using the tongue, use extreme caution removing from plate. It is thin allowing for you to use a little heat to sculpt a curve on it.

Other Info - To stand up up bend the body joint. You should fell 2 pops as it moves through the stops.

Eyes:

100% - 6MM

134%- 8mm

167%-10mm

200%- 12mm

These are safe guides. Test print the head to find what size works best for you AND the brand of glass eyes as they are not all EXACTLY the same.

10%% crosshatch/10% gyroid

.20 layer height

Enjoy the print

If u push the neck parts down slightly so they are touching, they stand perfectly. If I could add a photo I would

I absolutely love the cobra! I did go into Tinkercad and created a small hole running through the section with the hood. We had some old 20 gauge craft wire sitting around, and I ran it through. Now the head stands up firmly and the 20 gauge is easy to bend. Would it be possible to put a similar file up on a section with your painting on the body? My painting does not look nearly as good as yours.

Kate Widdison

Has anyone figured out a solution to get this thing to stand up?

Adam H Rubie

Yes the download post is only visible to members. Typically the file is available to members for 2 months (release month and then a month in the welcome pack). After that it is available to purchase on Cults of MMF for a discount.

Hello Raki-Box! I just recently saw prints of this cobra online and it looks awesome! It took me a while to hunt down the actual source (here) and I want to make my own, but after reading through a few posts, I just wanted to ask a few questions before actually committing to a paid tier. Question 1; is the download section only visible to paid members? I'm guessing it is because I couldn't find the 'pinned post' anywhere (I'm on PC, not the app btw). Question 2; are the print files only accessible for a limited time before they go to the back catalog I saw mentioned in the tiers or how does the back catalog work? I'm a little confused by this or it might just be the wording.

I have a lot of problems getting this one to stand upright. Takes a lot of fine tweaking then a customer bumps teh table and it's over from there.

William Ellis

Please create a small stand that will hold the head when it’s sitting on a table. (To prevent it from falling side to side)

RockyHill

Amazing work as always!! It is a bit of a balancing act to get its head standing and bumping the table always makes it fall. I think 3 middle body segments make for good length.

I printed over 7' of this bad boy...I love the model. I do wish the head was weighted better so it isn't such a house of cards trying to get it to display. Also, I noticed after scaling it to 134% (I prefer 8mm eyes) the head needed to be glued into the cape/neck. It doesn't snap in the way it should and just falls off.

Joshua Mercer

Am I the only one with issues with the tongue. Doesn’t fit in the tiny hole

Joe Augello

Yeah, matte can have that issue. I suggest scaling the teeth down by .5% and giving it a try.

Rob Klockman

This is very awesome. Am i the only person having trouble pushing in the lower teeth to the jaw ?. Everytime it just snaps the bottom of the jaw off. Could be the matte filament im using just finicky.
