Plus, I have been thinking about this fate thing and have been waffling for weeks. The perfect answer will hopefully strike me tomorrow.

So... exp could be a form of nether - the Anti-life, or something.

2019-08-14 14:05:45 +0000 UTCIf classes are rituals then they must demand a sacrifice which explains the massive amount of XP to hit level 50. They also must require a need and it seems the system is trying to supply or force that onto them. What else does the ritual sacrifice include?

Not as cool, but at the same time, probably the best use of the time still whirls ability... think simulacrum in Mother of Learning etc.

2019-08-14 10:17:13 +0000 UTCI was thinking fates to be either these balls of condensed power that either empowered the image or a type of aether charged weapon where they have a one use thing like a charge skill the gives the person using the aquired fate a skill of devastating power.

2019-08-14 06:53:49 +0000 UTCI was leaning toward the idea of them being a type of soul battery or soul binding. Sort of a weaponized power source or amplifier that was "charged" by the meaning of all the struggles their original wielder suffered through the course of their life. That or perhaps a sort of parasitic organism that grows over the life of the host and is removed and processed by the system when the host dies...
