PARDON OUR DUST: A MAJOR PATREON UPDATE

I briefly addressed this ahead of the JoyBoy Summer Stream, but it bares repeating in plain written text: we're not doing well right now. And it's hurting our productivity.

Thankfully for us, we're not in as dire of a situation as we were back in 2021. And THANKFULLY FOR YOU, no additional effort is required on your part to help us. Just continue supporting us as you already have through watching/liking/commenting on YouTube; and maybe even tossing us some coin here on Patreon (only if you have the means).

However, WE are the ones who have to change. JoyRide was established on going against the grain, but as the online ecosystem has grown the way it has, we are finding it impossible to grow ourselves any further against it.

So what CHANGES exactly? For now...

(1) Pretty superficial ones. Namely... a name change! Don't worry, we'll still be JoyRide! We're just nixing "Entertainment" and maybe tacking "Anime" on for SEO purposes. (If anybody should be worried it's me! Will I really be Mr. "Entertainment" anymore?? WAS I EVER?????) You'll also begin to see a visual overhaul and universal theming for all our YouTube thumbnails. This is all being done to make us easier to find and identify.

(2) Refreshing the Patreon. In the past, we have been restricted to placing previews, bonus content, early access / taken down videos on Google Drive. Thanks to improvements on this site, we can now upload them directly here, and have been doing so for recent releases (while also providing FREE previews). We are now beginning the process of getting the older content on here too and reorganizing our collections of bonus content. This is to ultimately make Patreon a fully realized platform for our parodies during early access / copyright takedown periods.

(3) Refreshing writing / production. With YouTube viewership and Patreon support all down at the moment, I have some very difficult decisions to make in regards to currently running parodies, and am not at liberty to speak on many of them yet. However, you will have noticed with recent releases that MorningRamen and SquabbleHeads have been brought in to make our parodies feel more fresh and self-contained. The production teams behind them are also more keen to share their homework, resulting in more transparency and previews as they are made.

A more detailed video may arrive on YouTube later to explain these changes further to the wider audience. For now, however, we just wanted our most dedicated supporters here on Patreon to be informed first, and to understand that everything's going to be fine, because we're being proactive!
