Hello, gentle readers

Comments

So… FYI to all “Hello Gentle Viewers” group. “Guncle” was a fun read AND NOW, “Guncle: book 2” has been released and it so fun! Hope to talk about it to y’all soon ✌🏽

Michael Ocampo

Woah you do online book clubs? This sounds like fun- I read 1-2 books a month myself! Hope that all is well, take care of yourself. And I did Kaplan GRE prep back when I went to grad school. It was comprehensive and easy to understand. PowerPrep online offers some good practice tests too.

Miguel Ling

I had to take the GRE recently, both when it was 4 hours and then when they changed it to 2 hours. The second time definitely went better and the shortening of the test definitely reduced test fatigue. The math isn't necessarily hard, but it really does test your knowledge of math concepts/rules and how you apply them. It seems you are proficient in English so Verbal and Writing sections shouldn't be too bad! The best thing I can recommend is don't wait last minute to study. I used GregMat, he has some YouTube videos and a website as well. The visualization really helped me. Best of luck on your education journey after the military :) Distance is hard, but y'all show that it can be done! It inspires me and gives me hope that I can have a successful relationship in the military. I recently got into the Army-Baylor doctoral program in San Antonio, TX to be an Occupational Therapist in the military. Lots of uncertainty, but it's reassuring to see y'alls relationship through the ups and downs. It helps me navigate all of it. Can't wait to see you and Zach back together!

Alastair, I think you should think about writing updates as probably doing videos are difficult while you are deployed. This update was enjoyable, humorous and chock-full of information. It was great because I could go back and reference it instead of watching a full video waiting to get to the part that interests me. Hoping you stay safe and well. I do pray for you and Zach during your deployment.

I've actually been considering getting "Mark of the Fool" on Audible! If it's anything like "Mother of Learning", then I'm in!

When I was doing actuary exams I discovered not all prep courses are equal... and failed narrowly. After that I always bought 2 different prep courses (with practice exams!) and as long as I was getting a decent grade on the more difficult practice tests I passed comfortably. Life gets in the way so I dont regret my failed attempts but lots of time and money was spent...

Ryan Barry

Lol. Thanks, Barry. One day for sure

Paracutirimicuaro

I’ll probably read Sword of Kalgan too since some of y’all have picked it up

Paracutirimicuaro

Yeah, I’ll be taking multiple practice test to reduce anxiety. Thanks 🙏

Paracutirimicuaro

I can actually imagine what your airspace has been like, so I'm looking forward knowing you're under blue skies in TX. One day if its declassified I would love to know more! (And, your Carrie Bradshaw voice over is perfect!)

Ryan Barry

To give my 2 cents… May sounds great (any day after the 9th) for the ‘Guncle’ discussion, and I took the GRE twice. First was getting into my Master’s program. That wasn’t a bad experience, but I kinda freaked because of “test anxiety”… it turned out ok. But the Philosophy department raked my ass to shreds—- only because the professors were full of themselves. But I did quite well. The second for the PhD program was a breeze! My score went up, 😁, because I was prepared and had had it before. The guide “GRE for Dummies,” seriously, and the practice test will probably be the best tool for you. Zach could practice with a version of the test; it helps the anxiety. Also, you are apparently a reader and that will really springboard your success. Oh, and a nice blow-job before… (Hello Zach), LOL 😂.

Patrick was just making a show of “why don’t humans have a completely new body” when we grown up. Why do we lose teeth but not change noses. That’s it, Ronny.

Michael Ocampo

I’m got stumped while reading Guncle. In chapter two there’s talk about a "third nose". Google wasn’t able to give me any answers. Maybe one of you can brighten my horizon? Did buy sword of kaigan too.

Ronny Radig

While I enjoy DnD & Fantasy novels, I will admit to never attending a RenFaire either. Alastair, you must be a knight / warrior & I can see Zach being some kind of rogue. On a different note: finished Guncle and almost done with Sword of Kaigen. Looking forward to discussing or getting other views on Blood Ties. Thank you, again, for your service, Alastair and we’re looking forward to your homecoming 🙏🏽✌🏽
