The votes are in and it was close, but Mister Magic pulled through in the end. I am starting the book now and we will discuss on the next 'Hello, Gentle Viewers' aftershow on 27 October! Can't wait to start this horror novel. It does not feel like Halloween where I'm at so I'm hoping this book puts me in a spooky mood -Alastair

Big shout out to my local independent bookstore Munro's Books (Victoria, BC Canada) for having both in stock! (www.munrobooks.com) If you ever get a chance to visit Victoria this is one of my favourite places. Go for the ambience: the high vaulted ceilings, stained glass, and tapestries by Carol Sabiston. Stay for the incredible array of books. So I found Mister Magic shelved in the Horror section, not Mystery. I'm already scared! I will start it tonight but I might have to read it during the daytime ;-)
