June's Thumbnail Sketches - WIP

So... I know the poll is still going, but it's pretty clear who the winner is...

Shantae!

Here are some thumbnail concept sketches I was working on today. A bit different than the strictly pinup stuff I usually do. I wanted to try and challenge myself! I am not happy with the camera angles yet, so these really are just concepts. Everything about them could very well change, so don't get too attached, just yet! I'd like to mention I am not looking for criticism here, just sharing some progress. Trust me, I see plenty of issues to work through, already, and I will. :)

I'll discuss the concept and each scene, below: 

Concept/Inspiration
This is based off the scene in Shantae and the Pirate's Curse where Shantae get's clamped in a trap bathtub and Risky takes her to a lab where Risky's pirate minion is being transformed into a Cacklebat. In the scene, Shantae must defend Risky from the Cacklebat, since Risky is unarmed. It's a pretty silly scene, but I thought it'd be a fun challenge!

Nude/Non-nude Versions
I thought this scene from the game had good potential for a nude/non-nude scene. In the game, when she jumps out of the bath, she's magically fully dressed. In my nude version, we'll just say she stayed naked. XD 

Scene 1 - Intro
I actually like the layout in this scene, but there are some perspective issues that I will need to work out when I make the actual detailed piece. I think I need to adjust Risky Boots' expression to show more apprehension, like "hurry up and fight, I'm unarmed!"

Scene 2 - Challenge
Not sure about this one... In the in-game scene, Shantae just magically gets dressed in an instant. I want to show that aspect, as she's getting ready to fight the cacklebat, and Risky getting the heck out of the way. I'd like to show Shantae's face, but it's a challenge to get her and the opponent in the scene, in a way that works. It has to work well with the nude version, too.

Scene 3 - Fight
The concept here works, but I'd like to push the camera angle a bit more, in the final. Make it more dramatic!

Scene 4 - Victory
This will be a victory pose, with the cacklebat defeated. I'll figure it out later. :)

Anyways, just wanted to share! Again, these are not final layouts, just sharing some progress sketches, for fun.
