June Pinup Sketch #4

Geez, these have been slow going. I've been in a funk or something the last couple of months, where my sketching takes waaay longer than usual... It's like I spend the same amount of active time at the desk, but just keep going over things, unsatisfied with the results. The more days I loose to this sort of occurrence, the more stressed I get about it. I usually end up with something I am happy with, but it's taking me a bit longer to get there, lately.
In the past, these sorts of spurts of dissatisfaction with my art meant that I was getting close to another artistic growth spurt. Reason being that my dissatisfaction tends to lead me to improving until I am happy with my work again. Hopefully that's the reason, because it's frustrating when it impacts my punctuality...
Perhaps I need to do another "drawing a day" for a month challenges. That really helped me, in the past.
I know I say it all the time, but I want to thank everyone who supports me, here. Truly. It's reassuring to know that you guys are willing to deal with my irregular schedule with these posts, and I hope that the end results of these pieces shows that I am really trying to put my best work forward. Not only for myself, but for you guys who enjoy the work I do. So thanks again for giving me the opportunity to spend my time doing what I love to do. Thank you!
Oh, and as usual, the high resolution files will be sent out on the 5th. I'll have these done by then, no doubt.

2018-07-02 20:58:48 +0000 UTCAs before mentioned, if there is anything that characterizes you as an artist, it is serious dedication and improvement :) . We've all little doubt that you'll emerge from this funk on the front foot, and that is why we are more than willing to stick it out with you, if nothing else than for the privilege of witnessing it. Maybe it'll help being a little more adventurous in your style and concepts; after all, sometimes those epiphanies lie in places that just need to be explored. Granted, I'll admit I'm a little biased in wanting this, but nevertheless it's something to contemplate. :)

I'd like to get back to posting every Friday here, and doing several pieces for DA a week. But to do that, I need to get back to where I can be happy with my technique again, so that I don't spend so much time reworking pieces over and over. I lose a lot of time that way. Still, I do improve from doing that, I suppose. Thanks for the supportive words, Edward! I appreciate that you've stuck around for so long! Looking back, I suppose I have come a long way, in terms of skill... Sometimes it's easy to miss those sorts of revelations. :D

If you’re about to hit an artistic growth spurt, I feel pretty lucky to be here to witness it. As someone who’s followed you for quite some time, I’ve seen your abilities grow by leaps and bounds. These last few sets have been amazing, some of your very best! Keep challenging yourself, and don’t forget to have fun. I’m looking forward to what you’ll be accomplishing in the future!
