Elven Archer's Name
Added 2016-10-12 03:40:44 +0000 UTCSo, I think the reason it has taken me so long to come up with a name for Elven Archer is because I already have a name I really want to give her... But I am worried it's too close to Lin, my elven barmaid.
The name I had in mind is Lena.
It's different, but still a bit similar. For some reason, that name just really suits her, to me, and has since I first drew her. This has made it difficult to move past it, so I have sort of just put off naming her until I can come up with something that I like just as much...
A couple of other names I had in mind were: Cara, Dannie, and Ellena, but none of these quite fit as well as Lena, I think. I like Elena, because it feels like a compromise, and hey, she could be called "Ell" or "Ella" for short, which would feel like it's an evolution of "Elven Archer", which has been her place holder name for so long! I also considered Lenneth, but that's the name of a Valkyrie in the game Valkyrie Profile, so that won't work. I think I am addicted to "L" names, haha!
Anyways, just wanted to share my plight with you all. If you have anything thoughts on the matter, I'd love to hear it! It's past time to name this lady!

2016-10-13 21:19:50 +0000 UTCThat should be her nickname from a travel companion.

2016-10-13 05:57:23 +0000 UTCGood point! Though I doubt I'd be calling her Elven Archer anymore, so it'd be more like "Ella the Wilderness Guide" or "Ella the hunter/tracker", or something like that. Her job is as a hunter for her rural little town, and she also acts as a wilderness guide for people who come in from the more civilized areas.

2016-10-12 17:33:36 +0000 UTCLena/Ellena sounds very nice to me. :D I like it a lot.
2016-10-12 15:27:57 +0000 UTCI kinda like Ellena, with her liking to just go by Lena. "Only my parents call me Ellena'shatta'thoriana."

2016-10-12 13:12:57 +0000 UTCWhile i think Ellena would have been fine "Ella the Elven Archer" might have been a bit corny! I think Lena is great. As to it being similar to Lin, maybe Elves prefer names beginning with L too ;)

2016-10-12 05:22:55 +0000 UTCLena works just fine, it's not too similar to Lin, though Elena works well and gives her two cute nicknames. I have a character "Ellecia" that everyone calls "Elle"

2016-10-12 04:38:16 +0000 UTCI got a crazy idea man, hear me out. You take the L, and the N and switch it up, and you get Nela. Which also sounds like Ella! Bam!
