The next generation Kibo-chan

It's still in a raw state, but I've been able to gradually formulate a plan for the future.

We are going to recreate Kibo-chan from scratch using the know-how we have gained through the development of the current Kibo-chan. This is the "Next Generation Kibo-chan Development Project".


The concept is to

Cuter

Bigger.

It can go anywhere.

We are aiming for the following.

The next generation Kibo-chan will be divided into the following three units.

Head

Arms

Legs

Each unit will be detachable from each other so that they can be quickly replaced in case of failure or problems.

The size of the model will be about 1.5 times larger than the current model to improve its appeal and ease of development.

It will be close to the size of Humanoid's Poppy.

I' m working on the schedule to complete the project in a year.


For the time being, we will concentrate on developing the arms of the 6Dof, and make a final decision on the overall size based on the size of the arms.

The servo motors we will be using are Dynamixel XL430 and XL330.

We are planning to use Raspberry PI zero W + U2D2 for communication.


Also, we are currently in a position to develop and outsource the PCB infrastructure, and we will adjust it to be as easy to handle as possible.
