Four laser aura/diffraction unit
Added 2025-06-26 18:52:53 +0000 UTCThis thing has some of the most complex power supply circuitry I've seen in a laser unit. Four different voltage rails to regulate the current through the laser diodes.
It has a double layer wheel providing classic diffraction effects, but also the laser aura effect where the laser beams are passed through a distortion disk that spreads the beams in a complex morphing pattern.

2025-06-29 11:57:20 +0000 UTCThe rotating effect is purely the disk moving around the effects. It's a surprisingly complex visual effect.

2025-06-27 23:34:24 +0000 UTCGood video (as always). One thing I'm not catching is how the pattern effects were done (the squares turning etc). Is that all edged into that 'refraction disk"?
