Hordeland Map (Roll20 Res, Hexes)

Hi everyone, it's been a minute! As it turns out adding more on to a pre-existing map is harder than making a map from scratch (Looking at you Laerakond). Anyways enjoy the Hordelands! and get ready for either a Zakhara or a Kara-Tur next

1 Hex = 20 Miles

Words can't describe how useful these two posts are, thank you so much! Once Zakhara's done I'll get to changing these

As far as scale, here are some estimated distances based on canon maps (https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Faer%C3%BBn#Gallery): 2e Waterdeep to Baldur's Gate 580 miles 3.5e Waterdeep to Baldur's Gate 470 miles 4e Waterdeep to Baldur's Gate 560 miles 5e Waterdeep to Baldur's Gate 525 miles From this, I can say that that Waterdeep to Baldur's Gate is roughly 525 miles. How many hexes should that be? The D&D Fifth Edition Dungeon Master's Guide on p.14 suggests using three map scales: > Province - 1 mile per hex, 5 miles per inch (5 hexes per inch) > Kingdom - 6 miles per hex, 30 miles per inch (5 hexes per inch) > Continent - 60 miles per hex, 600 miles per inch (10 hexes per inch) The DMG suggests that these scales are useful in that a full page map: > at the province scale represents the area that can be reached from the center of the map in one day's travel, assuming clear terrain > at the kingdom scale shows a region about the size of Great Britain or about half the size of California, and suggests that such a size is plenty of room for adventuring > at the continent scale is useful for showing how multiple kingdom scale maps fit together I guess your maps are subcontinent maps so 20 mile, 30 mile, or 40 mile hexes all make sense. It is up to you and what looks good on the maps. Just make sure Waterdeep is about 525 miles from Baldur's Gate. Your "Faerun Map Redone (Roll20 Res, Hexes)" image has about 37.5 hexes between Waterdeep and Baldur's Gate so about 14 miles per hex but your scale shows 360 miles = 9 hexes (approximately) or 40 miles per hex. Your text on that post says that it is 1 hex = 20 miles, which doesn't match the scalebar. I like the granularity of hexes on that map so I'd suggest something in the 15 miles per hex area.

As far as the Utter East, this image shows the borders https://i.pinimg.com/originals/8c/64/b2/8c64b2f0009d00022abe902e7b7e5cbf.jpg. Each nation is on roughly the same scale as Ulgarth.
