Not an expert but there's probably a reason why it's mandatory to wear a hard hat even while operating heavy machinery.... Probably could get away with a bike helmet if you flip over.

I flipped a tractor over when I was in the Boy Scouts - nearly killed myself and a few buddies. Of course, I was fifteen, an idiot and had no driver's license, but... I'm still an idiot! (It *is* super cool. Love the tools and equipment footage.)
