Like I said, these UI elements just keep on evolving and as the game evolved as well I went from aiming for a tribute to the classics and wanting something more minimalistic, something that wouldn't take up much room but would be bold and easily understandable. I don't think these quite hit the mark and they were limited by my previous ambitions (the whole call back thing). But even so, I learned a lot and these really pathed the way for the UI elements of the game going forward.
