So here's a weird deviation from the manga, originally Gon got the idea to break down the wall from the previous encounter with the taskmasters and how some of them were breaking the walls and floor with their bare hands, but here in the anime he got the idea from Tonpa and Leorio's fight. Another one of those "not sure why they did that" changes.

2026-01-09 21:14:11 +0000 UTCTonpa is a scumbag, not an idiot. There's a reason he picks fights with Leorio, cuz he knows that nobody else will step in about it even if Leorio's anger is justified. However in that situation where they decided to try and win by breaking down the wall, it became 4 against 1. In that scenario if he did still try and hinder them, then there actually would be violent repercussions and he saw how terrifying Kurapika and Killua are when they fight. It wasn't worth it to sabotage them anymore because sure for Tonpa he could cause 4 potential hunters to fail, but then he risks a savage beating or being killed and I don't think that he's that nuts.
