about the bankai it brings in anyone within a certain area around the user ally or enemy so he cant use it when others are around or else they will die from it too.

To be fair, feeling like a war can also happen by having multiple fights happen simultaneously.
It gives that feeling of it all happening at once rather than one fight at a time like a tournament.
I dunno I'll have to see what was happening during the Kempachi fight but I think you're right as its bits and pieces while other things are happening

About the pacing between the two anime. the Og anime unnessasarily and artifically exstened the fights, Mostly with filler. most of the fights in TYBW are the same length as fights earlier in the series. The Kenpachi vs nortoria(mantis guy) is the standout in lenght, mostly due to it being three fights in one. Kubo also asked for the pacing to seem faster to help get the audence in the mindset of this being a war.
