2024-02-03 07:36:26 +0000 UTChmm, i think your letting your preconceptions dictate your thinking a little there. it may be true that vaggie might have regained her wings by "being out for love", but i don't think that's something that can just simply be applied to all angels across the board. the idea that angels as a whole are empowered by being virtuous is somewhat contradicted by the general attitude of the exorcists like adam and l(ie)ute(nant), who treat killing other more like a sport and something to pass some time, as mentioned by adam and the lyrics of his song back in episode one "and for those of us with divine ordainment, exorcising is entertainment", and are generally rather cruel and sadistic in their behaviour, which doesn't seem to effect their powers at all. so if being good and virtuous was the source of strength for angels, i believe the exorcists would be a lot weaker than they obviously are. meanwhile the idea that demons are empowered by sadism and being evil and/or out for blood too is contradicted by the fact that what gave camilla the strength to defeat the exorcist was her love for her daughters and her desire to protect them. so she was being empowered by being virtuous, which again doesn't fit with the theory. pretty sure it was more of a general idea of fighting for someone else gives you more strength than fighting for yourself, regardless of whether you're an angel or a demon.

Also I think this is the reason Alastor came to the hotel in the first place, to be able to get close to Charlie and be able to make an deal with her where he have her under contract, So he can get his soul back.. I can't wait to see what they do in season 2.
