2023-03-06 03:30:03 +0000 UTCNormally in anime the awkwardness comes from the adaptation transition from still medium to animation, leading to situations where characters stand around talking during an urgent situation. In a comic time is arbitrary and dependent on the speed at which the reader takes in information since nothing moves, in motion time is passing constantly but character still act as though they’ve got the time to vomit up full sentences, in order to deal with this awkwardness one would need to adjust the flow of events and actions to work best in motion, but that never happens because nobody really gives a damn about this. All that said, what I wanted to say was that what we have here is a case of “obvious to the viewer but not the characters”, a way of visually communicating something to the viewer that people onscreen aren’t aware of, but HERE it’s done in such an obvious and conspicuous way it makes the guards here look completely incompetent and basically blind. Not that I’m complaining, this shit’s funny 😆
