2022-02-18 12:16:06 +0000 UTCand the parallels to early 20th century germany get ever more apparent. after all the german lyrics in the openings, now we have some pretty obvious nazi germany parallels with the segregation of certain people and especially the star armband. as for reset points in history, while i do agree that there were certainly some, not sure if alexandria actually counts as one. people tend to overhype the library of alexandria to some degree. first of, it wasn't even the only library of its kind, just one of the now most well known. second the way the library of alexandria functioned was that they took the books and documents of visiting travellers and made a copy of the work. they then kept the original and gave you back the copy of it. so most of what was in alexandria were merely copies of works that also existed elsewhere in the world, so we probably retained much more of the knowledge contained within than people give credit. not to mention that alexandria really only mostly contained works from around the mediterranean area. there were tons of other countries who made similar breakthroughs and their works never were destroyed.
