Free stuff<3
Added 2022-07-21 21:45:00 +0000 UTCIn this post I will be listing a whole bunch of audio tools you can get for free. I've stumbled upon quite a few of these when building my plug-in arsenal over the past couple of years and I though it could be useful to some of you! Alright let's do it :
- Spitfire Audio : These guys are absolutely amazing and offer high quality VSTs and sample packs. They sampled the whole BBC Symphony Orchestra for you to play with! My favourite part is probably their LABS collection which contains some super unique and inspiring instruments (from pianos to lap steel to organs and mandolins). Truly a godsend.
- MeldaProduction : Over 30 plug-ins you can freely download. This include utility plug-ins that could be missing from your DAW as well as more creative tools like a tremolo or a spectral panner. They're not super fancy but still very helpful.
- Valhalla : You might have heard of Valhalla reverbs before and for good reason, they're amazing! Their Room plug-in (only $50) is probably my most used reverb but they also have these 3 weird little plug-ins available for free. I use both the Super Massive and the Freq Echo and they're super useful when creating super deep and spacey ambiances.
- Izotope : These guys are well-known for their high-end mastering and restoration plug-ins but at the bottom of their product page you can find a small selection of free tools. The Vocal Doubler is fun to play with but my favourite is their Vinyl emulation which I use whenever I want to get into lo-fi territory.
- Tokyo Dawn : This company only offers a couple of freebies but I've been using their Nova multiband compressor for a while and it served me well.
- Auburn Sounds : A bit more specific but I'm using the Graillon pitch correction plug-in in lieu of the famous Antares one (which I currently can't afford) and it does the job quite well. It's a bit grittier than what you might be hearing on the radio these days but I love its colour. They also have some other stuff I haven't tried.
- Klevgrand : A swedish company making some innovative tools for producers, some of those being completely free (check out Rassel, FreeAMP, SyndtSphere).
- Ableton? : Alright this is borderline disrespectful to the good people at Ableton but if you're broke like me you can abuse the 3 months free trial by using a different email address to renew the trial when the 90 days expire. I've done it twice and it was pretty smooth. It's the Suite version too so it has all the fancy features Ableton has to offer. I'm sorry if you go to jail because of me, love uuu<3
And I think that's it for now! Other companies are sometimes doing limited offers so you might want to follow them on social medias or subscribe to their newsletter. I already got some free stuff from big names like Arturia and Soundtoys so you never know.
If you know about some free stuff I haven't mentioned please feel free to share in the comments so we can all make cool music without breaking the bank. Thank you all for the continuous support and have a lovely summer. ✨
