Advice Kite In Getting Into Massive Debt :D

Hi!

As many of you know, I have had major back issues for over a year now; I've had a regular office chair for a while now but I consider upgrading to a more professional chair with both lumbar and cervical support.

I remember a couple patrons recommending me Herman Miller chairs a while ago... If I'm gonna get a loan for anything, might as well be for something useful and good for my back

Any of y'all have experience with Herman Miller chairs and could recommend a good model?

There are four real choices here: The Herman Miller Embody, Libernovo Omni (preorder), Haworth Fern, and Steelcase Leap. In that order IMO. The Embody is perhaps the best ergonomic chair on the market, although that’s subjective. Especially at its roughly ~2K price point, you’re definitely in the realm of diminishing returns. Buy this one refurbished; this chair has a 12 year warranty, and HM is known for building chairs that last. You’re highly unlikely to buy a lemon second hand. The Libernovo comes in at half the price, but at the risk of coming from a company that’s practically newborn. That said, every reviewer (both sponsored and unsponsored) agrees that this chair punches well above its price point. The Haworth Fern comes in at 1200 USD and has been sitting at second place in my personal tier list for a while. I’d say it has the least aggressive support on this list from the factory, but that can be augmented with official inserts and at-home solutions. The Steelcase Leap is at the bottom of my personal list for the simple fact that it’s overrated. Really, it’s only on here because it’s good at being the best “an chair,” you can buy. Brand new Steelcase is asking 2K for it, but if you can get it sub 1K it’s worth the price. Really just a regular ~500 price range office chair cranked up to 11, and even then you’re mostly paying the brand tax. My recommendation for you is the Embody, or its business oriented sibling, the Aeron. Both are good at helping with posture and can absolutely help with back problems. They’re not perfect; Herman Miller sometimes suffers from the same sort of arrogance Apple’s famous for. Their opinion of how the customer should experience their product can, at times, be more apparent in the design and engineering of the chair than any sort of user adjustability. The non-adjustable aggressive lumbar on the Embody comes to mind. Second pick (yes this is a hype pick, shut up) is the Libernovo Omni. I’m running out of time on the post to give armchair recommendations (pun intended) on seating I’ve only owned for a month at most or, in this case, not at all. So I’ll let the people who’ve actually used this one do the talking. I recommend looking at some videos from Ahnestly and BTODtv, these guys are great reviewers and absolutely know what they’re talking about.

Thats also true... I could always contact the Herman Miller customer service, describe my situation and ask for a product that would fit, or perhaps if the have a physical store in france i could go test chairs at

Fwiw, even if a chair is really good, it might not suit you personally, especially when dealing with specific conditions. If at all possible, you should try to test sit various kinds of chairs to get a feel for what your needs are.
