Is it just me, or is Laruelyn also dying? Because some of those cracks are also coming from *her.* That would also explain a lot, because killing Elsa would make a serious enemy of pretty much the entire cast. I don't imagine Aya is going to respond very well when she's informed that the woman she has spend years if not decades trying to surpass has just fallen into an emotional shambles, for example. And Laure is close friends with Annabelle and she is even scarier than Aya. But none of that matters if Laurelyn isn't long for this world anyway.
