Joe Bob’s Thought of the Day: Wishful Thinking Edition

I’ll go glass half full on this and just say Yep!

So I was pretty young in the 80s, so correct me if I'm remembering wrong, but are we gearing up for another massive wave of the homeless like that decade experienced? Granted, that had more to do with punting the crazies out of the federal and state sanitariums, the lack of VA care for many scarred vets, and a massive debilitating drug epidemic than the price of food (although inflation was also a real problem). However, one fact that was repeated to me was that even though there were homeless, it wasn't as bad as Russia because we didn't have to stand hours in line for bread. I fear we may be heading to the same homeless situation AND bread lines if course correction doesn't take place. Thanks for acknowledging what SHOULD happen. It's a frustrating world for optimists, as we can see a positive answer, but never see it enacted. Apart from bringing back Joe Bob (and not a moment too soon)!

Glad that gas prices are falling but prices are up all over the world, driven by supply shortages and uber growing economies and demand coming out of a pandemic. It's not any one's particular fault, would have happened regardless of who was leading what country, but it's something that will gradually start to get better. Thanks for your daily thoughts - really appreciate your take on things!

As long as oil and big Pharma are making records profits we will all suffer the consequences by way of our wallets.

The federal reserve is printing more money right now to pay for the inflation reduction act. Nothing says stable economy like continuing electric vehicle tax credits and pharmaceutical lobbying. The Green economy is now wheelbarrows of cash moving around. At some point buy new stuff made it into reduce, reuse, recycle. They're going to add a fourth green arrow.

The hopeful optimist in me wants this to be true. The practical realist in me knows the bigwigs love all this extra profit and will buy their twelfth boat this weekend from their exploitation of the masses. You know, the philosophy of "Frosted Mini-Wheats" really sucks when you're an adult.

Buckle up, we're approaching harvest season. That 60 cents you're saving on the 3 dollars gas went up will not last. Question is, who do we blame next?

Gotta love an optimist - and a wiseguy! 😂 Here they're raising taxes to give us handouts to pay the energy suppliers' extortionate price-hikes to maintain their profits! 🤦‍♂️

If any of that actually happens I'll be thinking someone just injected LSB into my bottom.
