The .675 Gold Tip Slug

I have had a REALLY hard time getting help film the videos since Gregg moved. Last weekend I had planned out a shoot with a local guy who has been in a few videos and I waited an hour for him to show up and he just plan forgot - I guess. At that point I decided to come up with a way to just film these videos by myself. Enjoy! thanks for the continued support.

It's just incredibly easier for me to just load up my truck and film when I feel like it and when the sun pops out. Trying to plan stuff with others has proven to really slow down production. I appreciate the offer though.

And I'm utterly clueless as to why this response is to this particular video, I wrote the above after watching the 45-70 but patreon or my browser decided this was the most recent one and I honestly didn't bother to look. It's not like I /read/ anything on the internet, I've got things to say! ;)

Hey Jeff, wanted to share a thought or two (and I've deliberately avoided reading any others, might do later though) This new format, you shooting solo, that's absolutely fine. (hell, I remember a time long ago when you appeared on camera pretty regularly. Getting shy?) I get that you might be itching to test a round but can't get a guest shooter out on the range, and you're doing a good job of testing them out solo. Though I must say, I don't trust that stand (no matter how much you weigh it down) with a piece of string as much as I trust a human being pulling the trigger. That said, unless you develop a rapid-fire split personality we'll be missing out on the witty repartee which, to my my mind, is why you're having them along in the first place (everyone knows OG can't shoot worth a turd, but we do enjoy the finger-wiggle. (that was a joke)) So yeah, while I prefer the usual format, this is perfectly acceptable and you needn't fret about it, at least once in a while or for certain periods. Though if this is the new standard you're going for you might lose viewers, but I have every faith that it isn't. And that's about it I suppose.

Jeff, a serious question. It looks like the trigger for the Chronos camera is just a push button on a cable, and the video notes you need to push it manually about a half a second after the shot is fired. Detecting the audio signature of a gunshot with a microphone hooked to something like a Raspberry Pi is straightforward, as is closing a relay under the control of the Pi after a specified interval. Would you find it useful for a viewer to donate something of this sort?

I'd love to go out and help too, but NY isn't exactly down the road from you πŸ˜…

I'd love to help out, but it's a long drive from South Carolina. Anyway, the "new guy" did a fine job.

Would love to work with you. I am in the Salinas Valley and not too far away. Got a couple of set up if that helps.

Despite the fact that we all miss Greg's scientific shot analysis I think for a thirst solo flight it wasn't that bad. πŸ˜‰ However, the moment that leather belt snapped I thought: Wasn't "Broken Butt Straps" actually the name of the band you and Greg were in back in the 80's?🀣🀣
