How to WASH a disposable HEPA filter - it's stupid-easy

I've wanted to share this tip forever and now is the time to do it since I am trying to avoid going out.    I'm more of a cheapskate than an environmentalist,   but when you can "save the planet"  while you save a ton of money,   everyone wins.

I hope everyone is doing well.   Thanks again for all your support!

Nice AHA moment, this is up there with reusing disposable razor cartridges by 'stropping' them against your forarm :D

been doing this with filters for years. They do loose a bit of their "fine particle" filtering over time washing them, but not as much as these knuckle heads want you to believe so you buy new filtesr.

Ive been using these filters for years, I never even considered washing them. Thanks for the money saving tip!

As a truck driver who sees the multitude of landfills across the country, I agree with recycling. What I wonder about this process is, how do you know if it's still working on a microscopic level? I know that you must have researched this somewhat, because most people are unaware that household dust is composed mainly of dander.

Might have to try this with my welding helmet HEPA filters. Another thing that helps is cut up "register vent filters" as prefilters, they're pretty cheap and effective in filtering out larger particulates.

Get er' done

You can also protect your filter by using an old tshirt to cover the filter it will keep the big nasty stuff away from the filter and increase your cleaning interval , the tshirt can be cleaned in the wash .
