Opening Soviet Ammo Can from 1989

Like a little time capsule. Made in Russia, shipped to Romania in 89, left in Romania after the fall, surplus, shipped here from Romania, labeled Romanian.

2020-03-13 18:36:16 +0000 UTCKind of weird that someone would mark it as Romanian when Romanian doesn't even use the Cyrillic character set: it uses a form of the Latin alphabet (oddly enough, given where the name "Romania" comes from).

2020-03-13 09:05:01 +0000 UTCM1908 PS Light Ball. I have a bunch of that from 1984 according to the packaging. Imagine the Russians leading the world in lead free bullet technology! LOL. The bullet is a copper washed steel jacket over a mild steel core. Magnets will stick to it. It's tough on barrels. As for corrosive, they mean it! If you don't clean your rifle within an hour or so of shooting that stuff, rust will be forming already. But that priming compound lasts a lot longer than the modern non-corrosive stuff.
