For better or worse, direct viewer support is the only thing that's working for gun content. When we pay for cable TV we get 127 channels of nothing we have to pay for bundled with the little we want. We the viewers of your content are the beneficiaries of it - it's worth a buck a month and more, and we can fund it and only it with our pledge. It's a win-win.

I just don't see it as being that bad. YT is going to YT, but other gun channel have illustrated a workable path forward. You've already become very mindful of YT restrictions, but once you demonetize completely avoiding strikes against the channel is the only thing to worry about. In the short time I've been a patreon supporter the number of supporters has risen from 856 to over 1,100. Surely if you don't worry about ad revenue and produce and publish your best content the number will continue to rise and a year from now I think you'll be in a much better place.

Jeff, making it possible for folks to do other increments on Patreon is just making such things AVAILABLE....I've never seen you ASK any of us for money yet. You are producing a quality "product" and this is good ol' capitalist, free market USA - which runs on the buying and selling of goods and services. You have to understand my train of thought. I REALLY hate asking viewers for support at all. I'm more than happy with just a dollar/mo. support. It is possible for people to edit their pledge to whatever they want. But I'm thrilled anyone would donate a buck.

I hope you seriously consider making a higher tier here on patreon and abandon the sinking ship of YouTube. I will gladly pay more for your content and $10 a month is so inexpensive I can't imagine anyone's bank getting broken to pay it. Keep the lower options if course but please, let those of us who want to give more have a higher option. Regardless, I sincerely thank you Jeff, Danny and O.G. plus anyone else involved for your time and efforts to share with the world something you're clearly passionate about. You are good people and deserve success.

Youtube will be a wasteland of puppy dogs and picnic videos.... Use some other venue for your uploads. Vimeo comes to mind. It's obvious this is an anti gun attitude gone rabid.

I've been a YouTube Red subscriber for a few years and I was happy to see email that said that you still get revenue from YouTube Red when your videos have the yellow $ icon. I agree with your point about all these other video types that are highly dangerous and are things kids actually would want to watch and do bike ride a motorcycle or cook etc.

California anti-capitalism has distorted your world view. We love what you do, and are willing to pay for it to make sure it doesn't go away. Not everyone can afford $5 (especially if they are supporting many accounts), so maybe a lower tier will shake a few more dollars off the money tree to keep Danny in hats.

When you enter other than 1 or 5 dollars on the Taofledermaus page, the amount reverts to 5. That's why I suggested the change.

ya don't really have to pick a "tier".. you can easily edit how much right on the same page you can pick a tier on..

I have a suggestion: add tiers of 2,3, and 4 dollars a month. Your subscribers are dedicated, but may not be able to afford the $5 tier. I don't think it's necessary to add any privilege for a higher tier, but folks might be willing to up their monthly commitment to double or triple what they now donate. I'm sure we would all like to see you continue and prosper, and provide the information and entertainment that brought us here in the first place.

I like your videos and choose to support their production via patreon. But I am getting a little tired of shock you profess with each round of YT restrictions.

Just upped my monthly donation to your new $5 tier. Really getting sick of what YT is doing to Freedom of Speech and the Second Amendment. Keep on testing, I really enjoy learning about ballistics and hypersonic physics...

Questions and some comments: 1) What happens to YT Subscribers payment, does no money go to YT Content Creators ? 2) Could you not repost your content elsewhere or start posting elsewhere, like Vimeo ? 3) Why not promote local business and larger business yourselves to get payments direct from them as ad revenue as well as doing the Patreon thing ? Thanks for all the content and also this video :-)
