Flex Seal applied to body armor

Will the flex seal control the bullet fragmentation?     Thank you again Patreon supports!    I do spend your money wisely and was able to find a second purpose for the Flex Seal that you guys bought.    Every penny counts these days!

Flex Seal applied to body armor

A new mattress I internet purchased that is one of those "thermal foam" types that shipped directly to my door actually in the fine print had the "It is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling or in an application not intended by the manufacturer." line on it. Talk about government intrusion in to ones private life !!! What exactly is government approved and not approved for what happens on top of a mattress?!?!?!?!?!?!?! And if what you say about pesticides is true, then what the heck chemicals did they spray my new mattress with?

If you see that on a label, it is almost certainly a pesticide or disinfectant. Those are the only consumer products that have federally registered labels outside of medicine.

Nah, that's just the spiked choke collar, the cone of shame is the is the very fact it is an AR.

James Wolfe

That poor AR, I am pretty sure that grip is the gun version of the cone of shame.

I don't think I have seen that on any repair-type product.

Just wondering if there is somewhere on the fine print of the Flex Seal can the obnoxious nanny state warning that. "It is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling or in an application not intended by the manufacturer." Totally love what you guys do, especially the two "mocumentary" videos you have done so far with Flex Seal. Just hoping the company that makes Flex Seal isn't going to flip out (well actually I would kind of like it if they flipped out, just wouldn't want any negative consequences for you great guys). I wonder if truck bed liner would work better then flex seal? As you showed even though it didn't work as well as the true "Rino Liner" or similar it did do better then bare plates. So I wonder if one of those truck bed roll on liner DIY kits would do better then the Flex Seal did with this kind of test.

The bullets splatter or fragment. If any metal comes off of the plate, it's spalling.

I tried that on a plate but I never shot at it. I bought a set on Ebay that was not real. The guy went to jail for selling them with with fake test results. I put about three times the thickness on mine. I just gave them to my son who lives a few hours away to shoot at since our range is paper only. I'll let you know if the thicker coating of that stuff does a different job.

Mark Rittner

My very first thought as I saw the delamination was "What if you'd have roughened up and prepped the surface?" but you already came to the same conclussion or possible idea. Still a very interesting test! A couple of weeks without TFM? Or will there be uploads from already shot material?

I would like to see a factory coated ar500 plate in slow mo. Same setup.

Cool idea to try!
