Can a golfer really drive a golf ball further than a 12ga slug?

I just watched the rock salt video and heard about this one. I don't use notifications (I get enough emails, I don't need one for every video from every channel I am subscribed to that is published). I just watch the new videos from my subscription page, which is my "home" page for Youtube. It did not present this video for watching.

How did the views for this video look compared to other content with notification turned on? It was the first suggested video I had after it was released.

As to the potential range of shotguns slugs specifically, well it depends a whole lot on the slug design itself. Most sabot slugs and surprisingly heavy weight full bore solid slugs will go much further then a lowly foster slug. In fact a simple round lead ball of bore size or just under ("pumpkin ball slug") will go further then a foster slug. Foster slugs are basically the absolute dog of projectiles. How do I know? Shotgun slugs are a huge hobby for me and I cast and load my own from many molds including many custom molds and I have access to some properties that are very large and very flat and in a dry year after the harvest are the perfect backdrop to see puffs of chalky powdery puffs from the impacts of slugs at long range. At more barrel angle you can get a little more distance out of a foster slug then you showed but not a whole lot more. I can't prove it because I don't have the equipment but I think when foster slugs fly far enough they loose stability and start to tumble in flight and get even more draggy then they are otherwise. Reason I say this is because with the exact same load I can get noticeably more range out of a rifled slug barrel gun then a smooth bore of the same barrel length with as I said the same exact load. Granted at the distances we are talking with a slug unless your target is the size of the proverbial broadside of a barn even with a rifled slug barrel you have little chance of being accurate enough to make hits on a target at maximum range lobbing them in like artillary but a rifled barrel shouldn't give more range just because it is rifled when we are talking about range regardless of accuracy unless that spin is keeping the slug flying nose first longer and the slug has less drag flying nose first then when it is unstable and tumbling.

I always check Patreon first for new content from you and others I like to watch, then I check Full30, and last of all I check youtube (at least for firearm content, youtube is still good for non-controversial posts such as product reviews or how the heck to get the dash panel off a particular vehicle to install a new radio short of just breaking the darn plastic panel with no visible screws or fasteners or such).

Found this video on Patreon by accident. Usually I watch each and every one of your videos, although not via Patreon. Maybe once a week I take a peek at Patreon. AFAIK Youtube notifies me of every video you post. This is not true for all channels e.g. Stephen Colbert who posts 5 - 7 videos a weekday of which not all are shown under the bell icon.
