DevBlog: State of LitR 6.5.2

With the release of 6.5.2, which closes out a few more bugs, I am generally pretty happy with the state of the list. The past few months I have basically been playing catch up on all the development I wanted to do to shift the mod in more into what I think survival should be, and replacing some of the key functionality in the list that had previously been brought by SS2. Now that the dust has settled, I definitely think removing SS2 was the right decision. The number of crash reports have dropped significantly, loading times seem to be a lot faster, and it inspired me to build Settler Built Settlements which has quickly become the most popular mod I've ever made.

In terms of core balance and gameplay loops, the list should be relatively stable going forward. The next few releases will likely focus on polishing and bugfixes- if you've been holding out to start a new play through until I calmed down with the updates, now is the time. I'll also probably revisit some of my older mods for some polishing. I've learned a heck of a lot in the last few years of modding FO4. In particular thanks to EndlessFields on the discord I've got a template for making MCMs, and there are definitely a few of my mods that could use those.

In terms of areas of the list that I want to expand, building out Settlemen Crafting further is definitely near the top. I'm really happy with the combo of Home Unimprovement and Settler Built Settlements, but I'd also like to give the player more meaningful things to do in settlements. I'd also like to do a little more with melee weapons and crafting.

Longer term, I'd like to start looking at expanding the content within the list. I've got a long list of quest mods to try out. Who knows, I might even do an actual playthrough of FO4 for once...

Also, the quests after taking Gunners HQ just aren't very compelling, and it makes you engage with the grindiest, least fun aspects of the mod. It's an incredible piece of work, I'm very glad I played it, and especially glad I played it in LITR.

There's a few in the discord in the official dev channel.

The quests were fine, it was just the scope of chapters 2 and 3 and how incredibly heavy and in depth mechanically they are.

Which quest mods do you have in mind as of now?

I was sad to see SS2 go, but I understand. It was just A Lot, an entire second main quest line really, and it closed off a lot of other mod options due to compatibility. Looking forward to what you have in store for the future.
