Unexpected Acceptance

Solar gulped but felt a reassuring hoof on his arm.
Minty smiled at him softly, ”Hey, don’t worry so much.”

Solar sighed. “How can I not worry. We BOTH have kept this secret from our family. What…what if they don’t like me.”

”Oh trust me. They will love you. Remember, I have talked about you a ton. And they were fine once I finally told them about you. Honestly not sure why we were worried.“ Minty chuckled at the end. 

“Heh sure.” Solar Light responded as they kept walking to her families house.

He looked around and noticed the beautiful flowers and trees. While up ahead the cottage fit snuggling in between the nature. It’s was amazing.

I might never be welcomed here. The thought smashed into his head faster than he expected.

Solar paused from being so nervous, he was a RICH high status pony, hes not supposed to just date ANYbody. How will her parents respond. Probably nervous.

They will probably hate me. He thought to himself.

“OH. OHHHHHH So THIS is who you’re seeing!”

Solor perked his ears as a short, some what fat, pony came bounding toward him.

Minty leaned on him to bring him back to reality, “Say hi Solar.” 

”Ehh. Heh, hi sir.”

Quibble halted. “HA! No such talk around here son! You can just call me Quibble!“

Solar Light started to grow uncomfortable. This was…different.

“Ah you snagged yourself a good one I can tell Peppermint.” Quibble laughed as he nudged his daughter.

Minty giggled as she pulled Solar forward.

“Eh heh, I got lucky too.” Solar said way too unnatural.

Quibble stopped him, “Hey, you may be rich and from some high family but we don’t worry about that here ok? As long as you’re good to my daughter and she loves you and you love her. Then that’s all we care about. Lighten up son!”

Solar didnt know what to say, it was so unexpected. He felt calmness wash over him as he entered the home. Fresh baked bread smell filled his nose as more of Mintys family come out to hi.

Solar grabbed Mintys hoof and thought  perhaps his parents meeting Minty would go this well too!

So in Solars family. Star Light expects THE BEST for her son. He is part of an elite high status family who would be verrrry upset if he went with some “commoner”.  

So when he is welcomed with wide open hooves, he is so surprised and absolutely falls in love with Mintys entire family!
Clear Sky and Quibble Pants care for Solar a lot and end up becoming very close.
