Han Jisung Livestream - Solo Music + Compilation (Recording: 1 Hour 40 Minutes)

We checked out several of his solo records along with a compilation video that I got roped into watching (kidding I suggested it) called "Han Jisung babygirling his way through life". lol. I felt it was my duty as a Kpop fan to try to understand this term. I think I got it.

2024-02-01 09:15:43 +0000 UTCA wise person once said: “Han Jisung is an entire kpop group in one body”😭 -I love the juxtaposition Han being known as the more “relateable” member of SKZ whilst also writing “Alien” - If you remember, he got into music because his dad was in a rock band, so that influence is clearly strong in his musicality. He literally taught himself to rap on chords he’d play on guitar which is so rocker-rapper of him🎸 - For material inspiration, he has actually written several songs after being inspired by animes/shows he watches, he was inspired to write a different love song while watching a nature? space? documentary, and then they had him (the homeschooled kid) write a song based on school life.😭 It’s kind of a thing that Han is just as good at writing songs off of second hand experience. But we do know that Alien and Volcano are extremely close to his heart and based off of personal inspiration. If I’m remembering correctly— Alien, Volcano, I got it, and Run are all relating to him and Wish you back, Happy, Miserable, and Close are all fiction-based (according to him). - the simple but relateable note is so true and intentional! he’s said that he likes using easy phrases in deeper songs because they’re more relateable that way… but also apparently a lot of the phrasing in his rapping is awful to translate from korean to english because they either don’t have an english equivalent, the weight of the words he chooses doesn’t translate well, and there’s a lot of wordplay that’s hard to condense. it was funny when “I got it” came out because the fan translators were struggling to get a lyric version that made sense up😭😭 If you ever do another one of these on his music, he’s given up a lot of his more personal songs to SKZ as ot8 songs actually (e.g secret secret, slump, 19, sunshine, another day) and they’re also very beautifully written😊

2024-02-01 09:14:57 +0000 UTCLoved this, it’s always a pleasure seeing you fanboy over Han. Understandable, because he is amazing. My bias is definitely Lee Know, but you can’t bias Lee Know without getting to know Han, so my bias is currently Minsung outright. I have a whole playlist just of songs Han wrote, both solos and Skz songs. I also relate the most to Alien, I’ve left it on repeat for days when I’m in that kind of mood. Han has said something along the lines of how he writes songs based on stories he comes up with. I’m pretty sure Closer and Wish You Back were part of the same story. Someone said once that he’s basically a fanfic writer because of this, he’s got a great imagination, and considering how much of a nerd he is, it tracks. All of skz are huge nerds, but Han is something special. Anyway, I would love to see more like this, where you deep dive into one or more of the members to get to know them better individually as artists outside Skz and the 2k episodes. Hyunjin would be a great one to do, followed by Chan and Changbin. Think about it!

2024-02-01 03:56:50 +0000 UTCSo many of Han's songs are SO GOOD. Volcano is probably my favorite, though it's hard to choose. I love it so much. Alien is sad, so I struggle to listen to it as much, but it does feel like Han bares his feelings and sometimes his soul in a lot of his songs.
