I think RM has struggled with the fact that he can succeed in so many ways: in the ways that Hybe wants and the Kpop world wants and S. Korea wants and ARMY wants and BTS wants. He is only now finding out how HE wants his success to look like to him.

I agree with you, Hobi's body language could definitely mean that he's a bit uncomfortable talking about himself. And I think it became more of a mannerism now. About Jimin, it's actually very rare to see him opening up that much. I don't really think he is ok and comfortable talking about his feelings. People often say that but it's more nuanced than that to me. He has such a complex personnality. I think people feel very connected to Jimin because he's really good at talking about being vulnerable, sympathizing with you and comforting you in general. He has a very high emotional intelligence and often makes you feel like he sees you, he understands you. But that doesn't mean he is comfortable talking about HIS own feelings. He's one of the most private members in my opinion. He knows how to give you just enough information to make you think he opened up when he didn't and always keep things mysterious. In this interview, he may have felt more comfortable like the other members to share his story but that was a first. What he said hit me so hard because he barely shared his deep concerns like that before. There's a moment when you can hear his voice crack a bit like he was on the verge of crying. And I think that's one of the reason why he doesn't share much about himself. He's very sensitive deep down inside so talking about his real feelings could lead him to an emotional/overwhelming place. He doesn't allow himself to go there, at least not publicly. I think Jimin keeps things close to his chest, in a way to protect himself from people who could see him for who he truly is and then in a way, hurt him. Both Hobi and Jimin don't like to talk about themselves and are good listeners. They comfort/hype the other members the most. They also are the ones who easily can be around any member, not that the others don't get along but they can adapt more. To me, it mainly comes from a place of empathy and humility (Namjoon is like that too). In different ways. Hobi doesn't think he's better than anyone else so he's happy and confident doing his thing and letting people around him shine. While Jimin thinks he's less worthy than anyone else, so he keeps the distance and smoothly brings the attention to someone else. I remember in the latest mbti videos, Jimin said something like he wish people's happiness for himself (from a place of selfishness) while Hobi said he felt truly happy when others are happy. But their personnality are so similar otherwise. That's probably why they are so close, their humility and selflessness allow each other to exist and just be themselves on the same level. I noticed for instance that Jimin acts the goofiest around Hobi, like he doesn't have to act in a way, he's just natural and comfortable around him. And Hobi is Jimin's biggest fan, like he would always laugh so hard at whatever Jimin does or say lol.

2023-01-22 09:23:34 +0000 UTCOften times when you think Tae is making a sarcastic comment or joke here he’s actually being sincere. For example. All the guys are from the countryside. But Namjoon is from Ilsan which is a city very near Seoul… like the suburbs of Seoul. In S.K with its strong emphasis on Seoul and standard dialect Tae and the others when they moved to Seoul were considered country bumpkins and looked down upon. So to Tae, Namjoon genuinely seemed like a celebrity… as in very sophisticated and impressive. Like a Seoul person. He does have a great sense of humor though… deadpan humour and makes people laugh intentionally and sometimes very unintentionally but here often times the reason the hosts laugh is because of Tae’s unusual word choices and phrases etc. His dry sense of humour too of course. Also… some subs are missing. As are some captions which would give a clearer understanding. E.g Tae’s parents travelled 6 hours each way so a 12 hour round trip to see him for only 30 mins. The reason Namjoon picked Tae as who he wants to live as which wasn’t in the subs is because he said he is really handsome and for once he wants to live as one of these handsome friends indicating Tae. Also some further info about Yoo Jae Suk who is interviewing them and who Tae picked. He is actually the National MC. He’s a favourite with the public and highly respected. There is not a single person in South Korea who doesn’t know him etc he’s that famous. The show mentioned Family Outing was a variety show that is no longer on TV. Also Namjoon doesn’t say ‘Bad boy’ as his initial reaction but ‘someone who won’t listen to me well.’ I.e mischievous. Also it’s a shame but Namjoon’s funny ad-lib about ‘Dad why didn’t you buy chocolate bread’ wasn’t included in the subs here when talking about the banana milk and buns Tae’s Dad brought them. Namjoon’s sense of humour sometimes is missed by some and is an underrated aspect of him. I totally agree abut Tae knowing himself etc but I think you are missing some fundamental aspects of Tae’s personality etc. Tae was actually super nervous for this show. In the behind the scenes in the ‘memories of 2021’ this is shown clearly. In the first part he also said he couldn’t sleep the night before. You can clearly see he is nervous here. Not only does he sit super close to Namjoon for comfort but all his mannerisms are his nervous tells. If you watch him again you will see how many times he reflexively swallows. How his eyes dart about. How he sways. How often he licks his lips and chews on his lips. How his face goes blank etc. You also see how many times Namjoon pats him on the legs, holds his hand, leans closer to him etc. Tae and Namjoon were paired up very specifically. Namjoon has a bit of a paternal role here. As Tae often has difficulty in speeches and interviews etc and makes mistakes (very endearing ones to us) whereas Namjoon as we all know is super super masterful in controlling the conversation etc. Tae is not the most confident speaker etc. I think I’ve mentioned before about TaeTae language etc. Also about how Tae says in his Vogue interview his confidence etc is a mask he puts on to portray that etc… akin to a Swan that looks serene but is paddling hard under the surface. Fully agree though that he is authentically himself and knows who he is. He has always said that he wishes to be a person who is true and faithful to his own emotions etc. He has however expressed dissatisfaction and insecurity in how he looks before and shared it’s why he doesn’t post many selfies anymore etc, which is shocking for most of us. He is very difficult for many people to figure out and many ARMY still seem to have so many misconceptions about him because of his confident stage presence. And misunderstand him. The members own words about him should be remembered. He is often called pure, innocent and akin to someone without pollution. He is someone who has zero malice etc. He is captioned in this show as being a human puppy and a Teddy Bear with his nickname of TaeTae (pronounced TeTe) which as I mentioned the captions aren’t always translated. To understand him as a person I would recommend you look at the lyrics of the songs he has composed and written for. Like Blue and Grey which you heard snippets from here and Inner Child (a song he wrote for his younger self) as well as Songs not included here like Stigma. He’s also very sentimental. Again if you look at lyrics to his songs, Scenery, Winter Bear and Sweet Night, it will help you get a good read on his personality and better understanding about who he is as a person. 2023-01-21 13:18:39 +0000 UTCYeah I agree about Jimin and Tae, although I think they're still really close it seems more brotherly and like old school friends which makes sense considering they became best friends as teenagers. But obviously this is just based on what they show us, we don't see everything! Also Jimin just made a weverse post saying that he was able to feel less nervous about experiencing his first fashion week because he went with Hobi.

There's a Namjoon/Jimin vlive that we recommended in discord and in it Jimin says that he needs to always live with Hobi because Hobi takes care of him so well. Lately I've even been noticing that Jimin seems closer to Hobi than to Tae, who was his previous bestie/soulmate. They're even in Paris together now, actually. They were at the Dior show earlier today.

2023-01-21 09:55:05 +0000 UTCAnother great reaction! You're spot on in noticing that Hobi delicately touches his own neck and ears when he talks about personal things. He, himself, even remarks on it in one of the docuseries. And you're also right about them always being nice to the crew and people around them. We always get stories from the backup dancers, crew, extras, people on location, etc who say that the BTS members greet everyone at the beginning, thank everyone at the end, and are just so nice and polite. They're good ones.

Maybe that's because they were roommates for a long time and perhaps they already had a natural bond. I get the sense that Hobi is very protective and supportive of Jimin (and with all the members but the maknae line in particular) and you can tell Jimin really goes to him for that and is equally supportive of Hobi. They're also like those friends that could talk about anything without feeling any judgement and they're very playful and hilarious.

2023-01-21 02:10:48 +0000 UTCI often think about how when BTS say that they love their fans and that so much of what they do is for their fans etc, it's often thought of as a negative thing or something they just feel like they have to do but you can tell that it really makes them so happy and inspired, it gives them a lot of purpose and I think that's something we're all striving for at the end of the day.

I'm really glad I watched this very early on because I think it gave me a good understanding of how genuine and humble they are and how hard they worked and struggled in those early years and it made me appreciate them deeply from then on

His father wanted him to become a lawyer I believe but when jimin said he wanted to become an idol, his parents supported him and his dad drove him to all dance classes. Hos parents are really supportive. His dad is like jimin’s biggest fan. He will send flowers on his birthdays, one time jimin showed a text message from his dad after concert, his dad saying like “you know you were born to be my son, I’m so proud of you”. They have such a sweet relationship. His dad owns like a cafe. Many armies went there and said that the cafe is filled with jimin’s pictures and stuff and his dad will sometimes talk with armies and give gifts.
