I'd been looking forward to visiting London on my own for years when my therapist told me I needed to socialize instead and recommended a summer share in East Hampton. The one I found was run by the two most utterly narcisstic women on Earth, whose only desire was to get the most visible table at the local spot. (Can't believe I continued to see the guy for another three years.) When I was invited to my high school's 10 year class reunion I responded that I'd be busy that night watching "Carrie."
