Happy B-day, GenX-er, from this aging Boomer! IMHO, the best part of being young is the feeling of infinite possibilities; the worst is the lack of actual freedom to live the way you want. The best part of being old is being free to live the way you want; the worst part is realizing your possibilities are limited. (Or to put it another way, when you're young you think "something might kill me someday," but when you're old, it's "something's going to kill me someday.")

Worst part of getting older: realizing that being grown up is highly overrated and always wishing you were younger. Best part of youth: being too stupid to know any better. Best part of getting older: not being as stupid as you were as a kid anymore (NOTE: this doesn't seem to apply to everyone...). Happy birthday!
