2024-11-22 14:52:37 +0000 UTCGuys, you would be amazed how easy it is to get away with wearing fake awards in the military. First, we don't wear them except for special events. The Marines may be different (they are a bit special) but i can count on one hand how many times I've worn them over 10 years active duty Army. So it's entirely possible most of the people he saw on the day to day never saw his ribbon rack. Second, unless you're going to an event where they're going to check your record (like a promotion board) it is 100% the honor system. So long as you can believably explain an award if asked, no one is going to push it further unless they have really good team to doubt you.
