I work for a cat shelter and sanctuary, and we have a partnership with a lot of vet clinics in our county-- if someone comes in and wants to euthanize their cat for no good reason, they have the owner surrender the cat to the clinic, and then transfer the cat to us. We haven't seen a surrender rate go up with regards to "covid-kitties", but I know the municipal shelter has seen more dogs surrendered.

At least I think i remember seeing that in the news or something. I was shocked at how easily the vet was like, "yeah, totally," when I took my cat in to be euthanized because her cancer had become too bad. It's wild.

I bruised my hip and that shit took like a month to even approach not hurting. Meanwhile when I was in my teens I dislocated my knee cap, I slapped it back into place, popped up, and walked home. Still hurt but I could in fact walk on it. I’d be in disability for six months if I did that today.
