I was grossly unprepared to learn that, rather than people getting smarter as they get older by default, there are people who willfully and deliberately choose to remain ignorant. I was further unprepared for just how many of them there are.

2022-08-07 19:32:12 +0000 UTCMaking friends as an adult. Like as a kid, I was friends with the people who were physically around me. As an adult that's not a thing anymore, so it just doesn't make sense to me. Or preparing us for dating at all, would have been nice.
