I hated Brussel sprout and asparagus growing up. When I moved to the UK, I tried had them both and love them. Neither are boiled to death, instead they are roasted.

2024-01-30 21:14:54 +0000 UTCI'm always amazed by the FUD around electric vehicles. "But what happens if there's no power? What will you do after the apocalypse? Does the army think there's electric chargers on the battlefields?" Electricity is everywhere. Do these people think in their "what if the grid collapses" scenario that their local gas station is going to be open (forget about pumping gas, they can't even run credit cards)? In their Mad Max future, where are they going to gas up? In a pinch, you have many ways to make your own electricity off the grid. I dare any of those Alex Jones types to explain where they're going to fuel their Hummers when their long-desired societal collapse happens. "They installed chargers at home for the employees". You make it sound like some heavy infrastructure planning and spending. Those "chargers" are basically $40 plugs you can buy on Amazon to split off a power line to the clothes dryer. And that's a fast charger. In a pinch, you can plug your car into a standard outlet and slow charge it. Not a lot per hour, but probably more than enough overnight for the average city passenger vehicle to get them through the day. I'm amazed so many people think they can only charge electric cars at special public charging stations as opposed to in their garage.
