2023-12-04 01:22:17 +0000 UTCThe big exception to the "honor system" Tom was talking about it when you get a security clearance from the US Government. If you're getting a Top Secret or above clearance, they will check EVERYTHING! It took me 3 months to complete the paperwork (because I had to request records, look up names, get canceled checks, etc...) and then the FBI spent a full year following up on every last detail. If you're applying for a security clearance, don't fuck around!
