Back in the early 1970s, a store front - maybe a newspaper and tobacco store? - used to have used comics for a nickel, with the front covers torn off. My Dad got us several different ones like that, and the kids read them over and over. A couple of years later, after the Agnes flood wiped out that storefront - and LOTS of other businesses, too - Dad got the first collections - Batman from the 30s to the 70s, Dick Tracy's Most Celebrated Cases, and Secret Origins of the Super-Heroes.
2022-02-25 16:37:52 +0000 UTCHonestly? I can't remember what got me into comics. Was it the newspaper comics section? Maybe! Was it getting them as gifts from relatives at a very young age? Could be! I legitimately cannot recall, but I've loved them as long as I can remember.
