Changes to Patreon & Development Status

Greetings, one and all!

There are big changes on the horizon for Sanctuary in Time, both in regard to development status and Patreon. So, grab a chair, lend an ear, and we'll go over those together below.

Development Status

After 2+ years of development, which includes 8 months of post-release content updates, I finally feel satisfied with the experience Sanctuary in Time delivers for players. Is it perfect? No. There's always something else that can be tweaked, or something else that can be added. But then, I think that's true of all creative endeavors. However, on the whole, I do feel happy with where the project is right now and with what it provides for players, especially given that it's the first game I've released to the public.

With the release of the Free Edition of version 0.3.6d, Sanctuary in Time is exiting Beta, entering the Final Release, and active development on the project is drawing to a close. This means that while technical support and bug-fixes will still be offered, no further content updates are currently planned.

Changes to Editions of the Game

Along with this change in development status, there's also going to be a change in how the game is presented to players and sold. Because monthly content updates are no longer on the horizon, I'm going to transition from a monthly subscription model to one-time purchases.

The Standard and Patron Editions of the game will be replaced with the Free and Complete Editions, and going forward, both will be available to download from the Itch store page, the former as a free-demo experience and the latter as a one-time purchase. Otherwise, the contents of the two editions will be unchanged. So, if you already have access to version 0.3.6d of the Patron Edition, you don't need to purchase the matching Complete Edition, because you already have what it contains.

How This Affects Patreon

The feedback and financial contributions from Patrons have been invaluable. I appreciate those and the people providing them very much. However, as monthly content updates for Sanctuary in Time draw to a close, I feel it's necessary to also change how I collect those contributions.

In Closing

That's a lot of info to process, I know. So, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out and I'll do my best to answer.

I want you to know that I appreciate each and every one of you, whether you've played the free version of the game alone or contributed financially, whether you've commented and provided feedback or watched quietly on the sidelines. Each one of you have contributed to the success of this game in your own way, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

While I'm sure some of you might wish more content was coming to Sanctuary in Time, I feel like I've done everything I wish to do on this project, and I'm ready to move on. New projects and the challenges they bring are calling my name, and I hope you'll stay tuned as I turn my attention to those horizons.

And remember...

Above all else, have fun,

Max (Novus Operandi)

P.S. There's a limited-time 15% discount on the Complete Edition over on the Itch store page. So, if you don't already have the matching version of the Patron Edition (which is identical), give it a look.
