Friday Night Titans
Added 2022-03-01 00:00:07 +0000 UTCAs most of you know The Schmoedown is presenting a weekly TV series called Friday Night Titans.
What is it?
This is our flagship program, and almost all regular-season matches will debut inside Titans, with each episode containing two matches (think the old "Throwdown" or "Battlefield" formats that popped up occasionally). -
What does this mean?
As patrons and valued fans, you'll receive early access to select matches before the episode's debut (along with exclusive exhibition matches, player Q&A's, commentaries, coaching sessions, etc) Once a month, events will debut behind a special access paywall for certain Patreon tiers. These could be supersized episodes of Titans, such as the March 25th episode (which Kristian has announced on social is the Singles Title defense + Bibbiani vs Ellison undercard) or they could be unique seasonal events, such as Free4All or Spectacular. Traditionally we've called these "Pay Per View" events, and though we didn't sell tickets for Dhandapani vs Smets, we will be doing that again in the future, which is why we haven't ditched that name.
Does this mean we're getting fewer matches?
In terms of the volume of matches, as messaged earlier this year in various Q&As with Kristian and others, the number of matches per week is decreasing from the Digital Age. We're proud of the amount of content we were able to produce the last few years while everyone was remote, but part of the 'reboot' is a return to an earlier cadence of 2x matches per week (inside Titans) in a two-pronged approach to both increase the quality level while also increasing the engagement. We strongly feel that in earlier seasons we created an in-studio product for our fans while giving proper attention to all the divisions. We're also applying many of the lessons learned the last two years to our production going forward and changing things for the better.
We hope that this season delivers something exciting, fresh, and at times familiar to our longtime fans while being accessible to new audiences.

I know this is an older post but not sure where else to put this question. How is FNT going to combine with factions and rankings etc. Will there be a draft? If so, when?

2022-04-15 14:26:52 +0000 UTC1. Usually the PPV matches were released to the public something like a week after they were aired for paying individuals. Is that still correct and what exactly is that time span? 2. The Patreon-only matches have more of an exhibition character or are they more regular matches that might give faction points or play into story lines? They are never released to non paying individuals, correct?

2022-03-01 00:19:44 +0000 UTCSo it looks like we will still have full access to those events at the $10/$12 tier.

2022-03-01 00:14:29 +0000 UTCHi. The "certain patreon tiers" being referenced is the PPV tier. So the plan is still 1 PPV a month and all patrons at the $10, $12, and above tiers will have access to them. It was more trying to differentiate between the typical weekly Titans show from the ones that non-patrons will have to pay for.

2022-03-01 00:12:05 +0000 UTCHow does this impact the PPV tier, formerly $10 now $12? “Once a month, events will debut behind a special access paywall for certain Patreon tiers.” That tier had access to ALL PPV events. Will some now be restricted?
