Ed, I know the office job was never where your passion lay, but I do envy the rapport you have built in your relationships there, and also that it was a "real" office job--that is (at least in what you depict) that it isn't the kind of customer service job where everyone is constantly being checked up on for their moment-to-moment productivity and timeclock punches. These stories illustrates that in small ways--no one agitated about the time coming back from lunch. Ashley doesn't have to be on her break in order to check her phone or go out to the parking lot. (I get that this is a low bar--and I'm not for a second suggesting that you should be grateful for it!--just that you've gotten more for 'selling out' than I've managed, haha)

I left my sunglasses in her car; borrowed keys to get them and moved car to another parking lot. Yeah. I got yelled at. Plus, I had to pay for that lunch and another one...
